Welcome to Week Two of “Yoga For…” at Empowered Centre!

This week we bring you Yoga for the Office, including a yoga flow you can practice while sitting in your desk chair and some healthy snack ideas for when you need an energy boost  but don’t want to reach for the coffee/chocolate!

And now for those pick-me-up snacks:

– Try adding two tablespoons of peanut butter to a couple of sticks of celery. Just two tablespoons of peanut butter has FIVE GRAMS of protein (which will help to boost your energy) and celery is wonderful for helping to relieve the body of excess fluid (which can build up during long periods of sitting)

– Make yourself some trail mix! Nuts and seeds are wonderful for improving cognitive brain function, so grabbing a handful when your head is feeling a little fuzzy is always a good choice. We recommend a mix of macadamias, pecans, hazelnuts, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds and sunflower seeds

– An apple a day keeps the doctor away! Eating a piece of fruit on an empty stomach is one of the best ways to get a quick energy boost without the crash that comes from a hit of caffeine or refined sugar.
