Did you know that the best time to eat after exercise is within 20 minutes of finishing your workout? Did you know that your post-workout meal should contain a protein, a carbohydrate and a healthy fat?

Making time to eat a meal or snack after you exercise is a wonderful way to both help your body recover and to improve your muscle mass.

But what exactly should you eat?

Here are three of our favourite post-workout recipes:


– roughly chop 50g of firm tofu. Place in a pan with a dash of oil, half a diced tomato and finely chopped spring onion. Cook, tossing regularly. Top with a few slices of fresh avocado. 


-Poach two free-range eggs. Top with a handful of wilted spinach, cooked in a pan over low heat with a dash of oil, and a couple of crushed macadamia nuts.


-Place 15g of chia seeds in a bowl or glass with 100ml of coconut milk and 75ml of coconut water. Cover and leave to soak for at least two hours. Top with a handful of fresh berries.
